Quilt #6
The lilac fabric is light taffeta that was the bottom of a floor-length flower-girl dress that my sister wore for my and my husband’s wedding over 35 years ago.
I am offering it to my sister’s daughter who is only 4 years old.
The backing and border are from fabric donated by my brother’s girlfriend who inherited a favorite aunt’s cache of fabric when she unexpectedly passed away.
Quilt #5.
The top fabrics are all poly-cotton blend except for the fuchsia patches which are lame satin. The batting is just white fleece (new) and the backing is a very light-weight satiny lining type of fabric, donated by my brother’s girlfriend. I quilted along the edges of the pink patches with a fuchsia thread. I used the outer portions of a purple fitted sheet (the middle was worn) for the border. It was very easy to tear into perfect strips.
Quilt # 4
Quilt number 4, made of sweatshirt-type fleece. Very soft! Crib-sized. Spot quilted in corners of squares.
Finally finished!
Backing is grey sweatshirt fabric and the edging is soft ribbing I had for 20 +years.
Quilt number 3 - crib sized made of stretchy but soft fabric.
Quilt #3
Quilt #2
The purple squares are the same as the backing fabric but the lighting makes it look more blue. The light pink patches are floral satin.
Quilt #2 for 5 year-old grand-daughter who loves purple and whose room is painted the icy blue of Disney’s Frozen.
Quilt #1
Quilt number 1 for our Grandson. His room is green and black with a white stripe. He likes soft blankets. All of this fabric was donated by my brother’s girlfriend - even the lovely heavy satin backing which is fleeced on the other side. The edging is black satin lame.

This is the door sign designed and painted for my newest grand-daughter as a gift for her first Christmas. My other two grand-children were given metal and vinyl door signs made by a little company in Yuma AZ. We were not able to visit Arizona this year due to the pandemic so I had to improvise. I like the result.
Two choices of crocheted baby blankets for grand-child #3 due in August.
My grand-mother’s teacup made into a pin cushion, and a 2L plastic bottle cap made into a finger/thumb pincushion. Both very handy.
